Holly Berry Designs specializes in elegant traditional Christmas window paintings. Providing beautiful window “splashes” for many years, Holly Berry Designs has been a wonderful and important endeavor for the Nyland family. Take a look at some of our windows from past holidays. You can almost taste the glistening peppermint candies. The festive three-dimensional wreathes and bows beckon patrons to your door. One look and you’ll know why businesses call us back, year after year.
Why we paint:
Painting Christmas windows has been a Nyland family tradition since 1986. Denise, the mom, daughter Rose, and son Jay learned together how to run a small business and to count on each other.
We love to paint and people love to watch us. Every year when we come to paint at an area retirement home, clients gather around, enjoying fellowship at the yearly event.
Lastly, working hard painting windows in November offsets the increasing cost of college tuition and housing in the upcoming school year. Rose, a junior in college, and Jay, a freshman, both work full-time jobs while they go to school.
Our Designs:
Traditional designs in traditional colors. As a matter of personal preference, we don’t use day-glow paints, but vibrant colors found in nature. Most of our customers prefer to have us “dress” their shop fronts with candy canes and wreaths, garlands of holly and pine, festive greetings, bells and bows, glowing candles and laughing snowmen.
Materials:
We use weather resistant latex and acrylics, not tempera, which becomes pitted and streaky in the rain. It costs a little more, but holds up until you’re ready to remove it. The paintings are easily removed with household window cleaner and a window blade.
Prices:
Holly Berry Designs offers
competitive prices for superior service. Depending on the size of
the windows, we
generally charge $75.00 to make your shop front look like a beautiful
Christmas
card. A $5.00 discount is offered to customers who will allow us
to paint during the
week preceding Thanksgiving.
